Community activities and leisure
Children and young people can get a lot out of joining in with organised activities. It can help them to grow in confidence and meet new friends.
Many activities and clubs for children and young poeple are not regulated by law and you should make sure you are happy with the service before using it for you child. You should always visit the club or activity to find out how it runs. If the other children there look happy and smiling it is a good sign.
You may wish to ask some questions about how the club or activity operates. The NSPCC website [external link] has guidance on child safety in clubs and activities which includes a section on questions to consider when choosing a club or activity.
