Apply for a Blue Badge online

Please note if your Blue Badge was due to expire on or after the 30 March 2020, and you have not received a new one, due to difficulties in providing the necessary photographs or evidence, then as per national guidance, your Blue Badge will automatically extended up until 30 September 2020.

Please continue to use your existing Blue Badge as this will still be valid. Civic Enforcement Officers are also aware of this.

If you already have a Blue Badge and need to renew, please complete the relevant form below. We class all applications as ‘new’ whether you already have a badge or not. Please note if your application if successful a Customer Service Advisor will contact you to advise you of your next steps.

You must have a My Darlington + account to complete the application.

To apply for or renew a Blue Badge based on any of the below,

  • receive the higher rate of the mobility component of Disability Living Allowance
  • receive a War Pensioner's Mobility Supplement
  • receive an award from the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme
  • are registered blind/severely sight impaired
  • receive PIP having scored 10 points in the ‘Planning and following journeys’ section
  • receive PIP having scored 8 points in the 'moving around' section

Use the form below, you can upload your ID, proof of address & benefit evidence with this application. We will then contact you to arrange a payment of £10.

To apply for or renew a Blue Badge based on any of the below,

  • have a severe or permanent disability which means you cannot walk or can only walk with severe difficulty
  • cannot travel without risk of serious harm to their health and safety or someone else's
  • cannot travel without "very considerable psychological distress"
  • child under 3 who has specific medical problems, a need to travel with bulky equipment or a need to be close to a vehicle for emergency medical treatment. 

Use the form below, once a customer service advisor has assessed your application, they will contact you to arrange documentation and ID. However you may get referred to an Occupational Therapist if customer services cannot make a decision based on your application.
