Estate Walkabouts

In March our estate inspection programme continued with walkabouts in all areas of Darlington. Our housing officers were greeted by a number of tenants keen to make a difference in their area and issues picked up at the walkabouts included fly tipping, grass verges and communal cleaning.

In April the housing team will revisit all locations which were involved in our walkabouts to ensure that issues have been dealt with, ready for the next round of walkabouts in May.

Online Tenants' Panel

Over the last few weeks we have welcomed new members to our Online Tenants' Panel. One of our favourite stories was from Mr and Mrs Thompson of Fryer Crescent who wanted to get involved due to their passion for the community.

As well as joining the tenants panel Mr and Mrs Thompson have volunteered in the Fryers Field Friends group for a number of years, encouraging field users and wider members of the community to meet up and have a chat.

As part of the Online Tenants Panel the couple will review our policies, take part in mystery shopping and contribute to our magazine and website with the contribution flexible to their needs and commitments.

If you would like to join our tenants panel visit the Tenants' Panel page or email [email protected]

Easter at the schemes

Easter was in full swing at the schemes in March as tenants looked forward to 4 day holiday. At Oban Court residents all got their creative juices flowing in an Easter Bonnet making session organised by the fantastic scheme manager at the site.

At Dalkeith House local performer Caitlan Black was on hand with a host of classic songs, entertaining the crowd with plenty of singing and laughter from the audience.

Mother's Day

As well as the Easter celebrations March also saw Mothers Day celebrations across the town. At the Havelock Centre on North Road visitors were busy creating their very own Mother Day artwork to show thanks and celebrate.
