Your Tenancy - Frequently Asked Questions

You need to give us 4 weeks notice to end your tenancy – please visit the Starting and Ending a Tenancy page [internal link] more information.  This also explains how you should hand your keys in.

If you claim Housing costs through Universal Credit or via Housing Benefit, you will need to let them know too.

 

You can add someone as a household member  - for example a new baby or a new partner, however we will only add someone to the tenancy agreement in certain circumstances.  For more information see the Starting and Ending a tenancy page [internal link].

Generally no, unless this has been agreed with your Tenancy Management officer at the pre-termination visit.

You can report Anti Social Behaviour via our website or by calling us on 01325 405333. Not all issues are related to Housing so you may be advised to contact the police depending what problems you are having.

In certain circumstances you can transfer your tenancy but this is on a case by case basis.  Further information can be found in our Tenancy Policy [pdf document].
