Strengthening Partnerships: Housing Team Visit Hull City Council
Working together to share best practice and strengthen tenant engagement, Tenant Involvement Officers Sara and Matthew recently visited Hull City Council Housing.
During their visit, they had the opportunity to see first-hand how Hull works collaboratively with residents to shape services. They attended a lively tenant forum, where residents actively shared their views and influenced decision-making, demonstrating the power of meaningful engagement.
Sara and Matthew also met with the inspiring Women’s Voice Resident Association, highlighting the importance of inclusive participation and ensuring diverse voices are heard across communities.
The visit concluded with an estate walkabout, giving valuable insight into how partnership working between housing teams and residents can drive improvements at a local level.
Visits like this play a key role in building strong relationships between organisations, sharing innovative ideas, and ultimately improving services for residents. By learning from each other, housing teams can continue to put tenants at the heart of everything they do.
Good News Story – Oban Court
Jackie, a resident at Oban Court, has shared some wonderful feedback following her recent move to a downstairs property.
With the support of Fran (Scheme Manager) and Sophie (Housing Officer), Jackie was able to relocate from an upstairs flat to a more suitable home. The positive impact has been immediate—Jackie says she feels like a “new person” and is now much more positive in her day-to-day life.
She expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the kindness, care, and support she received throughout the process, and asked for special thanks to be passed on to Fran and Sophie for their help.
Jackie also wanted to recognise the wider team, saying she believes “all the staff are amazing,” highlighting the strong sense of support and community at Oban Court.
This is a fantastic example of how listening to residents’ needs and working together can make a real difference to someone’s wellbeing.

Good News from Our Branksome Hall Drive Community – trip to Blackpool
The trip brought smiles all round as members of our Branksome Hall Drive community enjoyed a fantastic day out in Blackpool.
We also made sure that those who couldn’t make the trip were very much part of the day. Back at home, tenants came together over a comforting meal of pie and peas, sharing laughter, stories, and plenty of good company.
It’s moments like these that remind us how strong and supportive our community is—whether out on a day trip or enjoying time together closer to home. Everyone matters, and no one is left out.
