Housing in Heighington
One of the highlights in August was our Housing in Heighington event, which brought residents, partners and Housing Services together to discuss local issues, share information and strengthen community connections.
With support from Tenants Panel Member Tanya, the event truly demonstrated the power of working together. Representatives from Civic Enforcement, Move More, Lifeline, Income Housing Options, Tenant Involvement and North Star Housing were on hand to speak with residents and offer support and advice.
Residents were encouraged to complete community surveys, giving valuable feedback that will help shape and improve services in the future. It was fantastic to see so many people attending, with children enjoying activities while adults took the opportunity to have meaningful conversations about their community. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success.
Summer Fayre at Havelock
This August, residents of North Riverside came together for their annual Summer Fayre at Havelock. With games, stalls, delicious cakes and hot food on offer, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
The event was a huge success, welcoming many familiar faces along with new residents who joined in the fun and community spirit.

Branksome Hall Drive Summer Fayre Raises £1,700 for Dogs Trust
Residents, families and visitors came together for a fantastic day of fun and fundraising at the recent Branksome Hall Drive Summer Fayre.
The event was packed with activities for all ages, including tombola’s, raffles, games, and a variety of homemade cakes and pies. The community spirit was evident throughout the day, with residents enjoying the opportunity to socialise, take part in the activities, and support a worthwhile cause.
The Housing Team was also on hand throughout the event, speaking with tenants, listening to feedback, and discussing issues that matter most to local residents. These conversations provided valuable insight and helped strengthen relationships between tenants and the housing service.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who attended, donated prizes, volunteered, and supported the event, an impressive £1,700 was raised for the Dogs Trust.
A huge well done to the organisers and everyone involved in making the Summer Fayre such a success. Events like these demonstrate the strength of the community and the positive impact that can be achieved when people come together.
Neasham Road Summer Engagement Event
The Housing Team hosted the final event in their summer engagement programme this week at Neasham Road, bringing together residents, partner organisations, and community representatives for an afternoon of information sharing and community discussion.
The event was attended by local councillors, Civic Enforcement officers, and the Move More team, who worked alongside the Housing Team to provide residents with a range of interactive and informative activities. The event gave tenants and residents the opportunity to raise concerns, ask questions, and find out more about the support and services available within their community.
A number of local issues were discussed during the event, with concerns relating to fly tipping, anti-social behaviour (ASB), and parking raised by residents. These issues were logged by the relevant teams to ensure they can be investigated and addressed.
The Neasham Road event marked the final stop in this year's summer engagement programme, which has provided valuable opportunities for the Housing Team and partner organisations to connect directly with residents, listen to feedback, and work together to improve local neighbourhoods.
