Thank You to Our Tenants – Stock Condition Surveys Going Strong

Over the past few months, we’ve been sharing updates on social media about our ongoing Stock Condition Surveys, and we’re pleased to report that the programme has been running smoothly and successfully.

Our Housing Building Surveyors and approved contractors have been visiting homes across our stock to assess fixtures, fittings, and the overall condition of each property. These surveys are essential in helping us plan future improvements, identify maintenance needs, and ensure that every home continues to meet safety and quality standards.

We want to extend a big thank you to all our tenants who have welcomed surveyors into their homes and been so accommodating with appointments. Your cooperation has played a huge part in keeping the process efficient and allowing us to gather the information we need to maintain and improve our homes.

We’ll continue to keep you updated as the programme progresses. In the meantime, thank you again for your support—it truly makes a difference.

Safety in your home

January brought some challenging weather, and with the cold, wet conditions affecting many of our residents, we wanted to make sure tenants had clear, accessible information to help keep their homes safe and well‑maintained.

Throughout the month, we shared a range of important safety topics across our social media channels, highlighting how we can support you and where to turn if you need help.

What We Covered in January

Despite the grey skies and unsettled weather, engagement from tenants was fantastic. Over the month, we shared guidance on:

  • Domestic Abuse Support – Signposting confidential help and advice for anyone experiencing or concerned about domestic abuse.

  • Gas Safety – Ensuring tenants know the importance of annual gas checks and how to report any concerns.

  • Fire Safety – Tips on preventing fire risks at home and understanding what to do in an emergency.

  • Stock Condition Surveys – Updates on ongoing surveys and how they help us plan future improvements to your home.

  • Safety in Shared Spaces – Reminders about keeping communal areas clear and safe for everyone.

  • Electrical Safety – Advice on using appliances safely and recognising potential hazards.

  • Water & Drainage Safety – Information on preventing blockages and keeping systems flowing smoothly.

  • Asbestos Safety – Reassurance about how asbestos is managed safely in homes where it may be present.

  • Damp & Mould – Practical tips to reduce moisture and information on how we can help if you experience issues.

We’ll continue sharing helpful updates throughout the year—and as always, if you ever need advice or support, we’re here to help.

Starting the New Year at Dalkeith House

Tenants at Dalkeith House began 2026 with warmth, creativity, and community spirit at a cosy New Year coffee morning.

The event was a relaxed get‑together, where tenants enjoyed crafting activities and colouring in bright New Year posters—perfect for bringing a bit of cheer to the start of January.

With hot drinks, biscuits, and plenty of friendly conversation, tenants and their guests made the most of the chance to catch up, connect, and enjoy each other’s company.

The morning was a lovely reminder of how small community activities can make a big difference—offering a welcoming space to stay warm, socialise, and start the year on a positive note.

Our Winter Village Engagement Day

We’ve been out and about visiting one of our local winter villages—meeting tenants, sharing information, and enjoying the festive community atmosphere.

Our engagement days are all about connecting with residents, listening to your views, and making sure you know about the support and services available to you. We loved chatting with everyone who stopped by to say hello!

Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates on where we’ll be next and to find out more about our upcoming engagement activities across the community.

Movie Night Magic at Oban Court

Tenants at Oban Court enjoyed a heart‑warming a great evening in January, starting with a delicious fish and chip supper that brought everyone together for a relaxed and friendly meal.

Afterwards, the group settled in for a cosy movie night, complete with classic treats—popcorn and fizzy pop—to create that perfect cinema atmosphere right at home.

The night was filled with good food, great company, and plenty of smiles, making it a wonderful way to brighten up the winter season.

We love seeing our community come together, share moments like these, and continue building connections that make Oban Court such a welcoming place to live.
