County Durham & Darlington Fire & Rescue Service Shares Vital Safety Advice at Branksome Hall Drive

Residents at Branksome Hall Drive welcomed the County Durham & Darlington Fire & Rescue Service in March for an informative and engaging fire safety session as part of the ongoing tenant involvement work. The visit formed part of our commitment to ensuring tenants have access to practical, expert-led advice that helps keep both their homes and communal areas safe.

Housing Service and Bishopton Primary Team Up for Community Litter Pick

Housing Service staff joined pupils from Bishopton Primary School in March for a successful community litter pick across nearby green spaces and footpaths. Pupils brought plenty of enthusiasm, proudly helping to keep their local area clean while learning about the importance of caring for the environment.

With support from staff, the group collected several bags of rubbish, leaving the area noticeably tidier and strengthening links between the school and the Housing Service. Both teams are looking forward to future community projects together.

Red Hall Estate Improvements Completed

Our External Decoration Scheme and Render Cleaning programme has now been completed across the Red Hall estate. MITIE carried out repairs, repainting and cleaning to freshen up homes, while Walkers Cleaning treated properties with external wall insulation using a specialist fungicidal wash to prevent future staining.

Tenants have already shared great feedback, and the improvements have made a noticeable difference across the neighbourhood. A big thank‑you to MITIE and Walkers Cleaning for their hard work in helping keep our communities looking their best.

Litter Picking at Fryers Field

Matthew, Sara and Rachele from the Housing Team teamed up with the wonderful students of Springfield Academy for a community litter pick at Fryers Field. The children brought fantastic enthusiasm and worked brilliantly together to help keep this much‑loved green space clean and tidy. Their efforts made a real difference to the local area.
