Together with Tenants September 2025

Garden Competition Winners announced in September

The judges were blown away by the use of a small space in one garden which exploded with colour and brightened up the tenant's days.

The Housing Team were amazed with both the front and back of one tenant's garden which showcased a tireless dedication and bloomed beautifully.

A special mention must go to the amazing sunflowers seen this year.

There was a hidden wild garden at the rear of one property which created a colourful haven and it was clear how much time was spent in the area.

It was great to see so many entries this year - a big well done to everyone.

Garden Path cleared – you said we did

At Sadberge, a recent visit by Sophie and Sara highlighted how small changes can make a big difference in the lives of our tenants.

During their visit, a tenant shared that she was struggling to walk down her garden path to hang out her washing. The overgrown hedge and uneven grass made it difficult to navigate—especially challenging due to her eye condition, which affects her ability to see clearly and move safely.

She explained how this daily task had become a source of stress and frustration, limiting her independence and confidence.

Recognising the importance of accessibility and dignity, Sophie quickly arranged for the path to be cleared, ensuring the tenant could move freely and safely once again.

The tenant was over the moon with the result. She shared that the change had transformed her life, allowing her to regain a sense of freedom and routine. She expressed her heartfelt thanks to everyone involved, saying it’s made a real difference to her wellbeing.

Estate inspection at Park Place

In September Housing Officer Holly and the Tenant Involvement Team, joined local councillors and Tenants Panel Member Hugh for the Park Place estate inspection.

Issues raised included littering, fences, bin stores and security and will be addressed in the next few weeks.

Macmillan Coffee Mornings

Across our schemes, tenants and staff came together to support Macmillan Cancer Support through a series of heart warming coffee mornings. These events were filled with cakes, laughter, and shared memories, all in the spirit of raising funds for a vital cause. From homemade bakes to heartfelt conversations, each coffee morning was a beautiful example of community spirit and compassion.

Here’s how much each scheme raised:

  • Dalkeith House – £170.00

  • Windsor Court – £386.00

  • Wesley Court – £269.00

  • Park Place – £101.50

  • Roxby Court & Gilling – £363.00

  • Tennyson – £32.00

  • Branksome – £1,030.00 🎉

Together, these schemes raised a fantastic total, helping Macmillan continue their incredible work supporting people affected by cancer.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part—whether you baked, donated, attended, or helped organise. Your kindness and generosity are truly appreciated.
