Free children’s Summer fun activities
Darlington Borough Council are providing a summertime of free activities for children aged 8-12 years.
Additional sessions were introduced to Middleton St George, Heighington and Hurworth this week.
We’re looking forward to week three (Monday 2 August) of our six-week activities sessions; encouraging children to move more and enjoy the outdoors, as part of the childhood healthy weight plan to support every child to feel emotionally and physically healthy.
In the first two weeks hundreds of children have attended the activities sessions and all seem to love joining in the fun and games!
The activities sessions are a collaboration of Darlington Borough Council’s public health team and Outdoor Ambition Limited, who are working hard to provide free children’s summer activities to all children, living in Darlington, and surrounding villages, aged 8–12 years every weekday, throughout the summer holiday.
Pictures and videos taken at the activities sessions will be uploaded to the this page when we can. We'd love to receive your pics too - along with why your child loved the sessions! Please forward to [email protected] (add "children's activities sessions" in the subject box).
All activities are free and will run at the same time and venue each week. There’s no need to book, children can just turn up and join in, but participants must wear suitable clothing and footwear, sunscreen, and bring plenty of water to drink.
