STRIDE Engagement Team
Do you struggle with drug or alcohol use?
Do you know someone who does?
Do you need support to understand how services can help you or to take the first step into a service?
We can help you:
- Call us on 01325 809810
To access our support, you need to be:
- 18 or over
- using drugs and/or alcohol
- have a GP in Darlington
- in need of a little extra support to access and/or engage with services
We are part of the STRIDE partnership; we work alongside With You and Recovery Connections to provide you with the support to engage in treatment and progress into recovery.
Outreach work
We go out and about to make sure support is available where it is needed. We can visit you at home, in hospital or at a community venue that suits you and your needs.
Harm reduction
We run a mobile harm minimisation service that can provide a range of support to lower the harm caused from using drugs.
We can conduct Blood Borne Virus (BBV) tests, testing for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV.
We can provide free syringes and needles, eliminating the need for people to reuse or share injecting equipment and reducing the risk of BBV transmission.
We can distribute Naloxone and explain how to use it. Naloxone can help with an opiate overdose (such as heroin), it can be provided as an injection or as a spray that goes up the nose. Naloxone saves lives.
We can also offer advice on injection site care and other ways of lowering the risk when using drugs.
