Want to find out more about living a sustainable and eco-friendly life? Come and join us in the Market Square for our Sustainability Event.
This event explores how you can affect the future of the world we live, work and play in. This event has been kindly supported by the Climate Action Change Team and the Stop Smoking Hub.
With information stalls and shopping, there’s plenty to see and do.
- Eco Businesses – information, sales and customer engagement to showcase your sustainable projects and services, energy saving and green initiatives, consultation, business to business and business to customer opportunities
- Plants and growing – growing tips, parklet pop up with Friends of the Earth and sustainable foods.
- Local Producer Stalls – foods produced by local artisans and farmers
- Not for Profit Organisations – interactive demonstrations, environmental information, local community groups, advise and support projects, charities and sustainability
- Craft and Artists – local artists and makers who create items using sustainable sources and traditional making techniques
- Sustainable Travel with the transport team
- Beekeeping with Darlington Beekeeping Association

Drop in Activity and Workshops 11am - 4pm
- Drop in make and decorate a flower with Yvonne Preston to add to our Heart Display to support and highlight no smoking. *This activity has been kindly sponsored by the Stop Smoking Hub Team.
- Learn about how to recycle your waste here in Darlington with our team from Streetscene - new food waste scheme
- VSTEAM showcase with mini windmills, tornado kits and other STEM activities
- Make a spinning stick with recycled materials with Litterbug Crafts.
- Drop in workshops to build a model wind turbine with Inventors and Makers
- Lego workshop activity with the team from Junior STEM
- Learn about microgreens with Green Up Your Act Education Team
- Visit the pop up Parklet created by Darlington Friends of the Earth

•Buses travel into the town centre, depending which route your arrive on all bus stops.
•Using map and navigation apps can help plan your route.
