Play In A Week will be running from Monday 20th – Friday 24th August, (10am - 4pm Monday to Thursday and 10am – 6.30pm on Friday)Come along and join us this summer to make a play in a week, learn new skills, make new friends and perform on stage at The Hullabaloo! Early Bird Price - Book before 30 June and pay just £100 Starting from scratch with no script, no characters and no props you’ll work alongside professional theatre makers to create a brand new performance in just one week. Working as part of a small group, you’ll develop a range of performance and technical theatre skills and have lots of fun with new friends along the way. You might already love performing, or you’ve always wanted to give it a try, either way you don’t need any performance experience just plenty of enthusiasm and energy to make the week something to remember. The theme of the week is inspired by silent movies – the car chases, the glamour and the pie fights! You’ll need to bring your own lunch and snacks each day, but we’ll provide a place where you can hang out and eat together at lunchtime. On the Friday at 6pm, you’ll be performing your new play on The Hullabaloo stage and can invite friends and family along to watch. Price includes two tickets for the final show. Additional tickets for the final show priced at £4 each.

Theatre Hullabaloo

Inspired by Shakespeare’s The Tempest, Storm tells the story of the magician Prospero, his apprentice Ariel and the creature Caliban. Bamboozle’s enchanting production has been carefully designed to accommodate a wide-ranging audience including those from across the autistic spectrum. Using elements of The Tempest and a limited amount of Shakespeare’s language, Storm tells a dramatic story of the sea, ships, islands and magic. Audience members will be welcomed into the performance space with relaxing music and during the performance will be invited to interact with the actors and the setting. The production is designed to enable individuals to engage with the story in their own time and at their own pace. Working closely with The Hullabaloo we are pleased to offer a range of performances to enable a wide variety of children to enjoy the performance. Our Autism specific performances are intimate shows for a maximum group size of 6 children accompanied by their teachers, carers, or family group. These are suitable for children who can be described as hard to reach. Our Relaxed Performances are open to all families and are particularly suitable for those who would be more comfortable in a relaxed setting where you are free to get up, move around and make noise if you want to. These performances will welcome larger audience groups, up to 40 audience members.
