Darlington's toast to St George
Darlington residents are invited to join Darlington’s Town Crier to celebrate St. George’s Day with a toast on Tuesday 23 April at 12 noon at the Market Cross.
St George’s Day, also known as the Feast of Saint George, is celebrated in all countries and cities of which Saint George is the patron saint. This date is widely recognised as the date of the saint’s death.
The Worshipful the Mayor, Councillor Veronica Copeland, will be in attendance.
Complimentary red roses will be given to members of the public, courtesy of Flowers of Nattrass, as well as a glass of port for the toast. These will be distributed on a first come first served basis.
