Summer of fun in Darlington

Summer of fun in Darlington
13 May 2019

A feast of fun is on the menu for Darlington following the success of the Darlington Food and Drink and Jazz festival across the recent Bank Holiday weekend. The events saw thousands of people enjoy food tasting and demos, street food and entertainment along with jazz music and much more.

A full programme of events is now set in place for the remainder of the summer with old favourites such as the Community Carnival alongside new events such as the first ever Darlo Drum Festival and Pease Pudding market.

Highlights include the Darlington for Culture Arts Festival from Friday 17 until Sunday 20 May. The weekend will showcase various musical styles, visual arts, children’s theatre, dance, film and talks. Darlington Dance Festival returns on Saturday 18 May with the popular Mass Dance taking place on Sunday 19 May.

Colourful street band, the Mr Wilson’s second Liners will lead the way for the ever popular Darlington Community Carnival on Saturday 29 June whilst Ingenuity takes to the streets on Saturday 13 July with a wide range of fun and interactive family activities.

These events and many more are featured in a new events leaflet which is now available at venues across the town including the Dolphin Centre, Crown Street library, the Cornmill and Queen Street Shopping centres.
