Road improvement works on School Aycliffe Lane

Road improvements will take place in School Aycliffe Lane starting on Monday (23 September).

The following temporary road closures will be necessary:

• Between The Chestnuts and West Cemetery – 7am to 6pm on 23 September, 24 September and 3 October
• Between Preston Road and West Cemetery – overnight from 7pm to 6am on 25, 26 and 27 September
• Between Preston Road and the Ineos staff entrance – overnight from 7pm to 6am on September 24, 28 and 29.
• Between the Ineos staff entrance and West Cemetery, overnight from 7pm to 6am on 30 September and 1 October.

It may be necessary to change these arrangements during the works – look out for any updates on Darlington Borough Council's social media pages.

The works are expected to be complete by Thursday 3 October.

Diversions will be put in place while the road is closed, and temporary traffic lights may also be used at other times to allow some parts of the work to go ahead.

The number 17 bus service will terminate at Horndale Avenue (south east bound) and resume at Horndale Avenue (north west bound) at the usual times.
