Road improvement work to begin in Hurworth-on-Tees
Road improvement work will begin in Hurworth-on-Tees this week.
Roundhill Road will be closed for up to 12 weeks from Wednesday April 21, as plans for a footway, drainage and carriageway resurfacing get underway.
New gateway features to slow traffic entering the village, and additional street lighting, will also be completed.
A signed diversion route will be in place and drivers are advised to use Neasham Road and The Green between the A66 Stadium roundabout and the Spar Shop in Hurworth.
Access to Hurworth Primary School will be maintained from the southern section of Roundhill Road adjacent to the Spar Shop.
The work is being funded by housing developer contributions.
“The road closure is required for the safety of workers while carrying out vital improvements, which will benefit local residents. It will result in some traffic disruption and we apologise for any inconvenience caused. A signed diversion will be in place, and we encourage drivers to use alternative routes.”
