Wool Fair heads back to Darlington

Wool Fair heads back to Darlington
20 April 2022

A celebration of all thing’s wool is heading back to Darlington and the organisers are inviting anyone who has an interest in crafting to come along.

Artists, crafting experts and enthusiasts from across the region will gather at the event hosted by Darlington Borough Council to bring the joys of spinning, felting, knitting, crochet and weaving under one roof for a weekend of crafting heaven.

The event made its debut in the town centre in 2020 and was hailed a success as visitors flocked from across the region to enjoy a variety of crafts exhibits and to see what traders had to offer.

This year, visitors can look forward to demonstrations from textile specialists, The Weaving Room among others, as well as getting hands on with have-a-go activities suitable for all ages and abilities.

The Wool Fair is free to attend and takes place 10 – 12 June 2022, 10am to 4pm at Darlington Market Square. The organisers are inviting exhibitors to register before the deadline of 30 April. For more information visit www.enjoydarlington.co.uk/whats-on.

““Crafting is a fantastic hobby and past time for all ages and wool crafting has seen an enormous uptake over the last few years.  We have some incredible creators and suppliers on our doorstep as well as across the UK, so we’ve joined forces to bring the event back to the town for a second year. “There will be lots on offer including tips and advice for beginners, have-a-go sessions to learn and create and lots of great crafting suppliers and exhibitors to inspire you for your next project."”
