Satisfaction with transport higher than average in Darlington

Satisfaction with transport higher than average in Darlington
07 March 2019

A survey has found people in Darlington have higher levels of satisfaction with their local transport when compared to the national average.

A sample of people from Darlington were asked to participate in the National Highways and Transportation Survey, an annual postal survey which measures public satisfaction with transport related themes.

This annual survey asked questions around a number of transport related themes and when the results were analysed, people living in Darlington were found to have higher levels of satisfaction with public transport, walking and cycling, tackling congestion and how easy it is to travel to local facilities like the post office.

Overall satisfaction for transport in Darlington was also rated higher than the national average.

Highway maintenance was rated the same as the national average.

The results from this year’s survey are extremely encouraging.  It’s great to see that the people of Darlington are more satisfied with their transport than the national average.

We will continue to track the findings of the survey in the future and look forward to hopefully seeing an increase in satisfaction year on year as we work continuously to improve the transport experience for motorists, cyclists, walkers and users of public transport across Darlington.
