Risk description
The product presents a serious risk of choking as the toy's batteries could be removed without the aid of a tool. Access to batteries could occur and they may be placed in the mouth and swallowed, causing a choking hazard for young children. Following a mechanical strength test of the enclosure, there was a short-circuit between the external terminals of the batteries with the 0.5 mm diameter rod. The short-circuit causes a smoke release and generates a maximum temperature rise of 99.3c on the batteries, more than the maximum authorized value of 45c, presenting a burns hazard. The product does not comply with the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.
