As part of this commitment we are strengthening our approach to Community Engagement. The focus of this new role is to assist the newly appointed Community Engagement Facilitator in planning and delivering the Council’s programme of community engagement activity.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, highly motivated individual to work in this very busy section. You must have approximately 2 years relevant experience in community engagement, events organisation with experience of analysing data arising from community engagement activity. Good organisational skills are a must.

The Intensive Supervision and Surveillance Programme provide services to help prevent and reduce crime and disorder by young people. As a multi-agency partnership we work with young people to, on the one hand, confront them with the consequences of their actions; and on the other, improve their life chances by directing them to opportunities outside of crime and anti-social behaviour.
The successful applicant will provide administrative and clerical support to the ISSP team and should possess administrative, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.

If so, performing as part of the Council’s Uniformed Warden Service could be the job for you. Working with the local police and other organisations, the Warden Service addresses anti social behaviour problems across the Borough, provides reassurance to residents, engages with young people and carries out enforcement action where required. Above all, it presents the opportunity to be part of a challenging, exciting and stimulating working environment.
You will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work under pressure and an ability to manage conflict. You will also be able to demonstrate a professional and calm manner in your dealings with the public, be physically fit enough to carry out a full range of duties and ideally have a track record of working closely with community groups and vulnerable people.
Uniform and training will be provided and you will be required to work evening and weekend shifts on a regular basis.

Suitably qualified applicants are required to be part of a team of Drivers both on a permanent basis and as casual pool staff providing holiday and sickness cover for Drivers on Authority vehicles.
Driver duties include driving the Departments’ vehicles ensuring safety factors are observed at all times. Drivers must have a full car driving licence category D1 to be able to drive vehicles between 9 and 16 seats. The driver will be responsible for driving children and vulnerable adults safely to and from various locations.
To provide casual cover you must be available to work at short notice, therefore a flexible approach to working arrangements is essential, as is a sensitive and caring disposition. Wherever possible to provide continuity to service users you will be expected to carry out return journeys.
