Ceremony fees from 1 April 2016 - 31 March 2017

Fees are inclusive of certificates and customers should also note that for all venues other than the Register Office that fees for the hire of the ceremony venue may be charged by that venue and are not part of our fee to attend the ceremony.

The booking of a ceremony forms a legally binding contract with Darlington Borough Council as per the terms and conditions of booking which are on our website. All fees must be paid in advance of the ceremony and all fees payable are those paid at the time of payment which may differ from those relevant at the time of booking.

Fees for Registrar to attend a Religious Building for the Registration of a marriage where the building does not have a person appointed by the Register Office to Register Religious Marriages. Fees are inclusive of two marriage certificates.

Certificates issued at the time of Registration of a Birth, Death, Marriage or Civil Partnership £4 each
Certificates issued for Births, Deaths and Marriages after the Registration but whilst the register remains in the custody of the Registrar. Includes short birth certificates. £7 each
Certificates issued by the Superintendent Registrar including Civil Partnership certificates after the time of registration £10 each
Certificates obtained by application and payment using our "online" service (inclusive of postage) £12 each
Certificates obtained at "priority service" when certificates are issued upon request the Register Office between 9.00 am and 10.00 am Monday to Friday 20 each

Please note that certificates can alternatively be obtained after a registration directly from General Register Office at a cost of £23.40 for a priority service
