The wide variety of roles on offer included finance, management, engineering, trainee bus driver, IT, administration, HR, health and social care, forensics, communications/media, hospitality, research roles, personal trainer, sports therapist, production operatives, warehouse, commis chefs and many more.

Chris McEwan, the council’s cabinet member for economy, said:

“Congratulations to everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event such a huge success and many thanks to the businesses and organisations who set up stall to offer help, advice, support and employment opportunities on the day.

“The support hub in particular, was a valuable addition to the event; helping people overcome obstacles to moving into work.

“Darlington has a wide range of employment opportunities from manufacturing, science and engineering, hospitality, civil service and many more. This event, our biggest yet, showcased the wealth of work and opportunities available in our borough, a reflection of our diverse and thriving economy.”
