Dress to impress! Be a part of our Fairy Tales and Legends Day

The town centre will become a magical place on Thursday (August 24) with a host of events marking Fairy Tales and Legends Day.

The fun starts at 11am and continues throughout the day with the chance to meet and greet some amazing characters, enjoy arts and crafts, take part in interactive adventures and enjoy a special stage show!

The free family day takes part in the town centre so please dress up as you favourite character and come down to join in the fun!

Chris McEwan, cabinet member for economy, said: “This is another great free family event in the town centre and I know lots of children will love the chance to get dressed up, meet their heroes and and have a fun filled day!”

Event timings:

Selfie station 11am-3pm - have a photo in the Whimsikcal Barbie box in Post House Wynd

Market Square 11am-3pm - colouring, hoola hoops and games with music.

Meet and greet 11am-noon

Queen Street - Captain America and Wonderwoman

Skinnergate - Cinderella and Snow White

The Cornmill - Alice and the Mad Hatter

Market Hall - Barbie and unicorn

Market Square stage show 12.30pm

Imagine Me Adventures with Jo Ebberley in the Market Square 1-1.30pm

Meet and greet some of your favourite characters 1.30-2.20pm.
