Darlington Dance Festival brings disco fever to town!

Put on your dancing shoes and get ready to feel the disco fever at this year’s  Darlington Dance Festival.

The celebration of dance and movement will take place in the Market Square  on Saturday 11 May from 1pm

Dance schools and community groups from across the town will come together in  take part in workshops and watch performances by Urban Kaos and Zumba Gold.

The event will start and end with the mass dance – a specially choregraphed disco routine which local dancers, schools and community groups are learning ahead of the event.

It is hoped more than 500 people of all ages will perform the dance at 1pm and 2pm, getting everyone in the disco mood.

Joanne Scott, chair of Darlington Dance Festival Association, said: “We can’t wait to see dancers of all age taking part in this year’s festival. We would like to thank our choreographers for putting the mass dance together and the council, Darlington Round Table, Darlington Rotary  and Creative Darlington for their support.
