We would like to invite all local families along to our Darlington branch to enjoy a fun filled day of children's entertainment. This free to enter event is open to everyone and there will be something for all ages, even a cafe on site for when the little ones get hungry. You don't need to be a caravanner to come along, so put it in your diary and even bring along a friend. We are celebrating the opening of our newly resurfaced displayed area and kids zone and there will be more surprises later in the year. Family fun day with a host of activities to suit a range of ages from Toddlers to Teens including a soft play area, slides, bouncy castles, penalty shoot outs, snowboard simulator, climbing wall, crazy golf, funfair stalls, face painting and much more...

Darlington Dance Festival Association

The Dance Festival kicks off on Saturday 19 May, with street theatre, ballet dancers and local dance school performances in Joseph Pease place throughout the day.

Sunday May 20th at 1pm brings the public, our dance schools and community groups together to perform one ‘mass dance’. The mass dance is an annual event since 2010. May 2017 saw 800 dancers strut their stuff in the market place, along with professional performances.

This year we want more people than ever to get involved especially those who don’t dance or may have been affected by mental health issues. We want to promote awareness of mental health and share how dancing can improve your mental health and wellbeing.

How you can get involved

Learn the mass dance! We can come and teach you and your group the mass dance, or you can come along to our weekly open sessions:

Friday 20th April to Friday 18th May, 12-1pm at the Dolphin Centre

or

Evening sessions @ Dance Wright Studios, Risdale Street on 10th & 17th May, 7-8pm

Hold an info stall: we will be holding spaces for information stalls for mental health support groups, charities or organisation to promote services and raise awareness. There will be a £20 fee but we will provide a table and market stall cover.

The mass dance event is organised by Darlington Dance Festival Association who are a voluntary group who come together to get Darlo dancing! For more info contact the Dance Festival Association on darlingtondfa@gmail.com  or visit our Facebook page. The mass dance is choreographed by Debbie Harbin of the D project and Darrien Wright of Dance Wright Studios, photo by Scott Akoz Photography.
