2023.03.28 Recall: Giro Merit Helmets

The following notice appears on the Giro website.

Giro is voluntarily recalling Giro Merit Helmets.

Risk description
Giro has reason to believe that there is a risk of the helmet straps on certain Giro Merit Helmets manufactured prior to January 2023 disengaging with the helmet when pulled with relatively little force, posing a risk of injury to the user in a crash. Giro is not aware of any incidents in the field related to this issue.

Product details
Giro Merit Helmets (which can be identified by looking on the outside of the helmet for the model name 'Merit' or by looking at the inner helmet stickers with helmet information like the model name 'Merit' and the alphanumeric indicator GH230) manufactured prior to February 2023.

Instructions on what to do with your affected helmet
If you have any Giro Merit Helmets manufactured prior to February 2023, for your continued safety, IMMEDIATELY stop using these helmets and contact [email protected] for a credit to the full value of the Merit to purchase a replacement via giro.co.uk.

Please note: no action is needed in respect of any Giro Merit Helmets manufactured after January 2023.
