Product description

Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as it is supplied with a clover leaf plug. Clover leaf plugs do not meet the requirements of the relevant standard BS 1363 as they are not fused, and the edge of the plug face is too small a distance from the pins. Users can access live parts when they are unplugging, or plugging in, the product. The earth pin was also sleeved, meaning the product is not fully earthed when in use. The plug pins also possessed noncompliant dimensions, which could cause damage to the plug socket.
Accessible conductive parts were separated from live parts only by basic insulation, meaning the product could become live under fault conditions. The product was also missing required labelling, markings and documentation.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
Corrective action
The product has been recalled from end users and withdrawn from the market by the distributor Master News (AG Food and Wine Limited).
