LED star lighting chain packaged in a see through plastic box
Hazard
The product presents a risk of electric shock as it has inadequate protection. The cover on the flasher unit was easily removed without the use of a tool, which gave access to live parts. The plug fitted to this sample was a non-UK type plug. It had not been fitted with a suitable conversion plug, which presents a further risk of electric shock to the user. The product was not supplied with any instructions to ensure the safe and correct assembly, installation, use and maintenance of the equipment.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
Corrective action
Withdrawal of the product from the market.
