Hazard
The product presents a risk of electric shock as the transformer failed to comply with the minimum creepage distance requirements of 2.5 mm for basic insulation. The distance measurement was found to be 2.3 mm between the earth pin terminal pad and the mains line track on the PCB. Also, the product features a noncompliant UK plug and cord set not meeting dimensional requirements of the standard and has an insulated earth plug pin, which is prohibited. The CE marking, as well as other documentation and markings were not present.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The listing has been removed by the online marketplace (Wish).
We recommend owners stop using this product immediately. Contact the distributor you purchased from to request redress.
