Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of electric shock due to it featuring components not for UK mains use and a lack of adequate earthing. When tested, it was identified that only the control unit was earthed. The earthing did not go to either heating plate and was terminated after the control unit, posing risks of electric shock and fire under fault conditions.
The main heating plate is rated for 220 V and is not deemed safe for UK mains voltage. Some of the required documentation and markings were not present.
The product does not comply with the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
Corrective action
Destruction of the product.
