Hazard
The product presents a high risk of electric shock as it has been identified that the plug pins have irregularities and therefore it would be difficult to fit into a plug socket. If the plug is repeatedly forced into a socket, the connectors may wear down and become damaged or unusable, which could then lead to electrocution.
The dimensions of the sleeved parts of the pins differed from the metal parts of the pins. This resulted in a distinct step between the two. This could cause damage to the socket and undue wear and tear to the sleeve.
The instructions were considered to be inadequate as they did not contain sufficient information to ensure the correct and safe use of the equipment. Some of the required documentation and marking were not present.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
