Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of fire as it is inadequately earthed and poorly constructed. There were no secondary fixings fitted to the earth terminals to prevent from accidental loosening, and the product was identified as reaching excessive temperatures in normal use. Under fault conditions, the wiring can overheat and ignite. The product also requires improvement to marking, labelling and documentation.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed.
The listing has been removed by the online marketplace (Amazon).
