Hazard
The product presents a high risk of electric shock. The bowl of the product had a lacquer present preventing an adequate protective earth connection to accessible metal parts, which can allow the product to become live under fault conditions. The fuse also did not contain a ballast and is considered counterfeit, preventing its protective function from operating under fault conditions.
The product also required improvement to marking, labelling and documentation. The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs and Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border. The listing has been removed by the online marketplace.
