Hazard
The product presents a high risk of electric shock as it features a poor-quality earth connection and allows access to live parts. The body of the appliance was not permanently fixed and could be separated without the use of a tool. If the product were to fail, and become live, the user may receive an electric shock. The instructions were inadequate as they did not contain sufficient information to ensure the correct and safe use of the equipment. Some of the required documentation and markings were not present.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
The listing has been removed by the online marketplace (Amazon).
