Black and blue hand-held angle grinder
Hazard
The product presents a risk of electric shock, fire and explosion as the charger was of poor quality, with poor quality soldering with some wires soldered directly onto the printed circuit board with no secondary form of fixing. The transformer also did not meet the requirements for creepage and clearance and fails the electrical strength test. Additionally, the plug does not meet the dimensional requirements of the relevant standard, allowing access to live parts when plugging in, or unplugging, the plug from the socket.
The product also requires improvements to marking, labelling and documentation.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 or the Plugs and Sockets etc (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been destroyed at the border.
Removal of the listing by the online marketplace (eBay).
