Product description
A bin lifting device for rear end loaded refuse collection vehicles.
Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of injury to a person's hands and fingers as the mechanism used to lift the bin was unguarded.
The machine did not satisfy the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.
Corrective action
The manufacturer has designed a guard for the cam and roller for all new machines. Existing users will also be contacted and guarding offered as a retrofit.
