Hazard
The product presents a high risk of electric shock as it is supplied with a clover-leaf style plug with no fuse. The dimensions of the plug are insufficient, allowing the user to access live pins when unplugging, or plugging in, the plug from the socket. The lack of a fuse means the plug is not sufficiently earthed, presenting a risk of electric shock and fire under fault conditions.
The product also required improvements to marking, labelling and documentation.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
The listing has been removed by the online marketplace (Amazon).
