Hazard
The product presents a serious risk as it is poorly constructed with insufficient creepage and clearances. Over time, the poor quality connections could break down, causing the product to arc and ignite. The product also failed the electrical strength test, and the plug did not meet the dimensional requirements of the relevant standard, exposing users to live pins and an electric shock hazard. Improvements are required to marking, labelling and documentation.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 or the Plugs & Sockets (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed.
The listing has been removed by the online marketplace (eBay).
