The Government have introduced a number of initiatives to help people purchase a home. They are planning to introduce more options and have set up a Website” Opening The Door To Owning Your Home” ( https://www.ownyourhome.gov.uk [external link]) providing information on various options:

These include

  • Help to Buy- is an umbrella term for a range of government funded schemes designed to help people to get onto the property ladder. There are several options available, including equity loans, rent to buy and shared ownership. More information about Help to Buy is available on their website [external link] or alternatively speak to the team directly on 0113 8526888
  • Right to Buy- for both Council tenants and the proposed extension to Housing Associations tenants
  • Starter Homes-register an interest in the planned new 20% discount on new homes
