Sexual health services

The new sexual health service is operational from 1 August 2018.

The service will provide residents of Darlington a first class service delivered by an excellent, committed and qualified team of clinicians, including consultants, GPs nurse practitioners and support staff from the County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust (CDDFT) and from Primary Healthcare Darlington. The service will continue to provide specialist sexual health services for Darlington residents centered on the clinical needs of patients.

The Service will provide the full range of testing, treatment and prevention of sexually transmitted infections (including HIV) from the Hub Clinic at the Sexual Health Centre in Darlington Memorial Hospital.

Community Contraceptive services including long acting reversible contraception (IUD, IUS and implants) will be provided from the Forsythe House, 20 Woodlands Road, Darlington.

Patients will still access routine contraceptive advice and services such as pills and injections from their own GP.

Patients can self-refer to the Service and can access the service using a single point of access by telephoning 01325 743203.

There are both appointment-based, ‘walk in’ and self-testing options available. you can view the clinic timetable here[pdf document].
