Learning & Skills
Learning & Skills has moved many courses online as a result of the pandemic, but we are now in a position to offer some classroom based face to face teaching in venues that have been assessed and declared COVID secure.
If you sign up to one of our online courses, all communication will be via email and you will receive an email from us with your joining instructions to your virtual class on Google Classroom. For any Google Classroom technical assistance please email [email protected]. Please make sure to check your inbox and junk mail folder for these emails. If you have not received this email, please email [email protected]. Please be aware that replies to your emails from us may be sent to your junk mail folder.
For those who are completing paper-based distance learning qualifications, please continue to complete your workbooks as planned. Once these are complete, please email your tutor for further instructions. You can find your tutor contact details on your signed learning agreement. This does not apply to those completing distance learning courses online through our partner Skills Network.
To those on apprenticeships, please continue working on your theory elements through Quals Direct/Learning Assistant. We are now able to offer classroom-based face to face teaching for the theory elements of your apprenticeship. Please email your trainer/assessor if you have any problems.
Please do not attend any of our venues without a pre-arranged appointment.
If you attend one of our centres you must wear your own face mask/covering in the entrance; the staircases; the reception area; corridors; toilets; and moving around the classroom. We cannot provide face masks/coverings. When you enter the Coleridge Centre please head to our reception area upstairs and wait to be called into your class by your tutor. Please do not enter any offices when you are in our buildings.
Once you are sat at your desk in the classroom you may remove your mask/covering for the duration of the class, but you must enter and leave the classroom (and building) wearing your mask/covering.
You must also practice social distancing at all times. Where possible, we have placed floor stickers and changed layouts to assist with social distancing.
Some individuals are exempt from wearing face coverings. For example, people who cannot put on, wear or remove a face covering because of a physical or mental illness or impairment, or disability, or if you are speaking to or providing assistance to someone who relies on lip reading, clear sound or facial expression to communicate.
