Get ready for a summer of free children’s activities
We are getting ready for a summer of free children's activities starting next week at venues across the town.
Sessions, run by Outdoor Ambitions and funded by the government, are open to all 7-12 year-olds, living in Darlington and surrounding villages, and will run from next Monday (24 July) until Friday 1 September.
There’s no need to book - just turn up ready for fun, wearing suitable clothes and shoes and with a drink of water.
Activities will include rounders, football, cricket and sports day games.
There will be bike parking available and Sustrans will be providing a Dr Bike health check and minor repair service at a different location each week.
Nick Wallis, cabinet member for children and young people, said: “It is great news that we are able to put these free sessions on again with the help of Outdoor Ambitions.
“There are sessions throughout the town at different times and days. All the events provide a great chance to have fun outdoors, take part in different activities and make friends!”
