Education for children with health needs who cannot attend school
We are consulting on changes to the way we support education for children with health needs who cannot attend school. Provision for children with these needs is currently provided by the council’s Home and Hospital Teaching Service.
The proposal is to move the Home and Hospital Teaching Service under the management of Rise Carr College.
Under these proposals, it is anticipated that the provision would move away from pupils attending the centre and to focus, wherever possible, on pupils remaining in their home school to maintain the sense of community, connectedness with their peers and belonging that they get from their home school.
We are keen to hear from everyone who has a view about this service.
We would also like your views on what impact the policy may have on you, for instance as :
- A parent/carer
- A young person
- A professional
- A representative
