Carers Respite/Short Break Survey

The aim of this survey to find out if you are able to take a break/pause from your caring role and what services you may currently use to provide care for the person you look after while you step away.

We would like to know about your experiences of taking a break (good or bad) so that we can see if there are any gaps. The information you provide will help shape services and support for you and the many other unpaid family Carers in Darlington.

Darlington’s Commitment to Carers Steering Group meet to improve support to unpaid family Carers in Darlington. It is made up of charities, Darlington Borough Council and NHS organisations.

We want to hear from people who support someone who cannot manage without them. That might be someone with mental health issues, disabilities, addictions, or frailty. Many unpaid Carers don’t see themselves as having a caring role which stops them getting the help they need, for example to take a break. “I am not a Carer I am just looking after my Mam/Dad/Son/Partner/Gran/Friend etc.”
