Redeployable CCTV
Redeployable cameras deployment guidelines [pdf document]
When needed we can provide short-term portable CCTV.
These can be redeployed if problems reoccur.
The main aim is to gather evidence and the identification of offenders.
Where appropriate we will explore further support with the local community.
Support could include the use of problem solving, help from Police and Community Support Workers.
How do I request Redeployable CCTV?
You can report areas that have problems with antisocial behaviour.
We also receive referrals from the Police and various Council departments.
CCTV Single Point of Contact considers if the referral meets all the agreed criteria.
If so, the CCTV is deployed at the first available date
We will place signs alerting the public to the use of redeployable CCTV in the effected area.
When the cameras are removed we will remove the signs.
If the decision is to not deploy a camera, the reason is recorded and signed off by the CCTV Manager.
How do we know if the deployed CCTV has been effective?
We carry out a final evaluation at the end of deployment.
We look at the statistics before, during, at the end of the deployment and a couple of months after the cameras have been removed.
This shows the longer-term impact the cameras have on the area.
