Draft domestic abuse safe accommodation strategy

The County Durham and Darlington safe accommodation strategy 2021 – 2024 is a joint area strategy that sets out how both local authorities will meet the needs of victims of domestic abuse; both residents of County Durham and Darlington and those who come from outside the local area with the aim of commissioning a range of appropriate support services.

A final draft will be published by 5 January 2021 therefore the consultation will close 16 November 2021 to allow time for the meaningful incorporation of feedback.

This consultation process is in line with statutory guidance and advice from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.

A national domestic abuse strategy is due for publication next year and the local strategy will continue to evolve through ongoing engagement and consultation with the community and other stakeholders.

Please read the strategy and give us your views.
