The UK has been at the cutting edge of space exploration, both fact and fiction for over 100 years; from H.G Wells, Arthur C. Clarke and Douglas Adams’ stories of science fiction, to the ground breaking work of the UK Space Agency, British engineers and scientists.

What was once thought possible only in science fiction is gradually becoming science fact and part of our everyday lives, including mobile phones that talk to us and people living and working in space. It is undoubtedly the dreams of science fiction writers that has helped to drive the imagination of scientists to explore what is actually possible. Find out more about the fact and fiction of space in this touring exhibition!
