Local plan paused to allow for further analysis

We are proposing to pause on the delivery of the local plan to allow for further analysis to be completed before it is taken to Cabinet for approval.

Last week the scrutiny committee discussed some further points around the planned development of the Springfield Park access road.

Traffic modelling work will be carried out over the summer months to explore access options to the potential Skerningham development.

Heather Scott Leader of the Council said: “This is absolutely the right thing to do given the points raised by the public and at our place scrutiny committee.  It’s important we listen to feedback, taking into account all views and options before committing to a local plan for Darlington.”
