New online exhibition from Stephen Bainbridge
A new online exhibition has opened at Head of Steam – Darlington Railway Museum featuring the work of artist Stephen Bainbridge.
Stephen Bainbridge has been working with acrylic and watercolour for more than 40 years and regularly holds exhibitions throughout the region.
Originally from Buckinghamshire, he moved to the North East after teaching for 36 years. His pictures often reflect his lifelong passion for the days of steam railways, but he has also produced works of other technical subjects and landscapes.
The new online exhibition showcases some Stephen’s new and existing work and documents how he creates one of his paintings.
Stephen is well known to regular museum visitors as he often paints in the building, when it is open, and the museum looks forward to welcoming him back as soon as possible.
Leona White-Hannant, manager and curator at Head of Steam, said:
“We’re delighted to once again be able to host an exhibition by Mr Bainbridge, despite the difficult circumstances. His work is always extremely popular with our visitors.”
The exhibition is can be viewed online at https://www.head-of-steam.co.uk/our-collections/stephen-bainbridge/ until Friday 26 March.
